Hailing from the Southern United States, Kaelan's passion for the outdoors blossomed amidst the beauty of her childhood surroundings. Fond memories of family camping trips, chasing fireflies, and navigating local waterways ignited her passion for the great outdoors.
After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Elementary Education, Kaelan embarked on a journey to connect with students from underserved communities. It was here that she discovered the transformative power of experiential learning, taking her students beyond the confines of the classroom to immerse them in hands-on, real-world experiences. From guided nature walks to tackling real-world challenges, Kaelan's dedication to fostering curiosity and exploration knew no bounds.
Driven by her unwavering commitment to outdoor education, Kaelan transitioned into the role of a Forest School Educator in Idaho, where she spearheaded immersive outdoor activities that instilled a profound sense of environmental stewardship in her students. Her path unfolded further, propelling her into a senior leadership role as the Director of Development and Operations for an esteemed outdoor nonprofit. In this capacity, she orchestrated strategic development initiatives, passionately advocating for outdoor learning opportunities for youth nationwide.
Now, Kaelan is eager to lend her expertise to the Viristar team, supporting organizations that are dedicated to making a positive impact on our world. Based in Boise, Idaho, she embraces the mountain lifestyle alongside her husband and beloved dog.
