Viristar is pleased to offer a webinar on January 14, 2025 at 19:30 Central European Time (CET, UTC+1), where Viristar's Director will lead a discussion on risk management in the mountains.
What to Expect
The 90-minute webinar will cover general principles of outdoor safety, based on the latest scientific research regarding incident causation, including risk management models based on systems theory.
The webinar will then look at how a systems-informed approach to risk management can improve safety outcomes, including the academic research supporting the value of standards-setting bodies such as UIMLA.
The event will also provide information on where participants can go for additional training resources regarding safety in the mountains—and anywhere outdoors.
The event is designed for International Mountain Leaders (IMLs) but is open to anyone.
International Mountain Leaders who participate in the webinar may be eligible to receive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits for the event, according to UIMLA’s new 2024 Standard.
Webinar Hosted by UIMLA
The webinar is hosted by UIMLA, a global governing body representing International Mountain Leaders worldwide, with a primary mission to advocate for the profession on an international scale and establish consistent qualification standards for all IMLs. UIMLA also promotes the profession and supports collaboration among IMLs from different countries.
